Penetrant Testing System

This interaction was developed as part of a Penetrant Systems Selection module aimed at non-destructive testing (NDT) personnel. The module was part of a larger course designed to teach candidates about the liquid (or dye) penetrant testing method which uses capillary forces to locate surface-breaking flaws in component parts.

In order to assess candidates in this particular area, it was decided to create an interactive case study where users were presented with requirements for a particular inspection scenario, and then had to select the most appropriate penetrant system.

Particular attention was paid to feedback for the incorrect answers, so that the candidate was made aware of the reasons why the selected penetrant system was not suitable for that particular scenario
